I want to be open with you about an upcoming change to the pricing of my themes.

The prices of my themes on Envato are increasing. This is not a change I make lightly, but it is a necessary one if I want to continue maintaining my themes properly, improving them over time, and offering the level of support my customers expect.

What Changed?

Starting July 1, 2026, Envato is changing how revenue is shared with authors. Because of this, the amount authors receive from each sale will change significantly.

Previously, Envato’s share of each sale was around 30% when selling exclusively. With the new structure, Envato will take around 50% of each sale. That is a significant difference, especially for products that require ongoing support, updates, testing, and maintenance long after the initial purchase.

For many marketplace sales, only about half of the sale price will reach the author before other costs are even considered. The remaining amount still needs to cover the ongoing work behind each theme, including development, support, documentation, testing, software, hosting, taxes, and other business expenses.

That matters, because a premium WordPress theme is not a one-time product.

A theme needs ongoing care. It needs to stay compatible with WordPress updates, PHP changes, plugin updates, browser changes, and customer expectations. It needs bug fixes, improvements, documentation, support, and regular testing.

Why I Need to Adjust My Pricing

Because of these changes, the previous pricing on Envato no longer reflects the actual cost of maintaining a professional WordPress theme.

I want to keep building themes that are reliable, useful, and well-supported. That means I continue investing time into:

  • WordPress compatibility updates
  • Bug fixes and security improvements
  • New features and theme enhancements
  • Improvements based on customer feedback
  • Documentation and setup guidance
  • Demo content and import improvements
  • Customer support
  • Hosting, licensing, testing tools, and other infrastructure

Rather than lowering the quality of support or slowing down development, I have decided to update the pricing so I can keep doing the work properly.

For now, I have decided to increase the prices of my themes on ThemeForest from $59 to $79. Even at this new price, the amount I receive per sale is slightly lower than it was before Envato’s fee changes, so I may need to review the pricing again in the future.

My Themes Are Now Available Directly From My Website

As part of the new Envato structure, the exclusive author option is being removed.

This means I am now able to offer all of my ThemeForest themes directly through my own website as well.

This gives you a more flexible way to purchase and use my themes, especially if you are a freelancer, agency, or business owner who needs reliable access to updates and support throughout the year.

On my website, you can choose from annual pricing plans for both single-site licenses and multi-site licenses:

1 license: $59 per year

5 licenses: $169 per year

Unlimited licenses: $329 per year

The single-site plan is a good fit if you only need a theme for one website, making it ideal for small business owners setting up their own site. The 5-license and unlimited plans are designed for freelancers and agencies who build websites for multiple clients.

ℹ️ All annual plans include a full year of updates and support. Many marketplace purchases only include 6 months of support by default, with paid renewals needed later. With an annual plan, support stays active all year.

When you buy directly from QreativeThemes, you get:

  • Better value through annual pricing
  • Single-site and multi-site license options
  • Year-round updates and support
  • Direct help from me, the founder and developer of QreativeThemes
  • A plan that works better for freelancers and agencies
  • A purchase that directly supports future development

Why Buying Directly Helps

Selling directly gives me the ability to build a more sustainable future for my themes.

For a long time, WordPress themes were mostly sold as one-time purchases. I understand why customers like that model, and to be honest, I have never been a huge fan of subscriptions myself either. But after maintaining premium WordPress themes for many years, I have learned that a one-time price is very difficult to sustain long-term.

Theme sales naturally go up and down. When revenue depends almost entirely on new one-time purchases, the ability to fund updates, support, testing, and improvements becomes tied directly to those fluctuations. That can make it harder to plan ahead and keep investing in products that customers rely on.

Some customers have been using my themes since the very beginning, and I am genuinely grateful and proud of that. It means a lot to know that a theme I built years ago is still part of someone’s website or business today and has continued to serve them well.

At the same time, it also shows why the old pricing model has limits. A theme requires updates, compatibility fixes, support, and improvements for many years after the original purchase. In some cases, I have been maintaining themes for close to 10 years after the first sale.

Annual plans make that relationship more balanced. They allow customers to keep receiving updates and support when they need them, while also making it possible for me to keep maintaining the themes properly.

Buying directly helps more of your purchase go back into the products themselves. It supports future updates, better support, new features, and the long-term health of the themes you use.

What this means for existing ThemeForest customers

If you already purchased one of our themes on ThemeForest, nothing changes for your existing license. You can continue using the theme as before.

The only thing that may change is the cost of future support renewals on ThemeForest. Since the theme prices have increased, support renewals there may also be slightly higher than they used to be.

Thank You for Supporting QreativeThemes

I am genuinely grateful to everyone who has purchased, used, reviewed, or recommended one of my themes over the years.

Whether you found my work through ThemeForest or through my own website, your support makes it possible for me to keep creating high-quality WordPress themes for small businesses, and maintaining them for the long term.

This pricing change helps me continue doing that with the care and attention my customers deserve.
